Job Description:
The Herdsman/woman is responsible for the daily care and management of a herd of animals, typically cattle or sheep. This includes tasks such as feeding, watering, and monitoring the health and well-being of the animals. The Herdsman/woman will also be responsible for maintaining the pasture and fencing, as well as performing basic herd management tasks such as breeding, calving, and lambing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Feed and water the herd on a daily basis
- Monitor the health and well-being of the animals
- Maintain pasture and fencing
- Perform basic herd management tasks such as breeding, calving, and lambing
- Keep accurate records of animal health, feed, and other herd management activities
- Supervise and train any assistants or interns
- Communicate with the farm manager or owner on any issues or concerns regarding the herd
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with cattle or sheep preferred
- Strong knowledge of herd management and animal husbandry practices
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical labor
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Must have a valid driver’s license
