The Herdsman/woman is responsible for the daily care and management of a herd of animals, typically cattle or sheep. Key Responsibilities:

  • Feed and water the herd on a daily basis
  • Monitor the health and well-being of the animals
  • Maintain pasture and fencing
  • Perform basic herd management tasks such as breeding, calving, and lambing
  • Keep accurate records of animal health, feed, and other herd management activities
  • Supervise and train any assistants or interns
