MARRIED at First Sight UK star Thomas Hartley’s mum has slammed ‘vile wife’ Whitney Hughes in an explosive rant.

Following Friday’s episode, Thomas – who was joined up with Adrian Sanderson in the show – took to Instagram to discuss the episode.

The mental health care assistant was in the car with his mum when Whitney Hughes came up in conversation.

Whitney has been slammed by viewers for her “rude” behaviour towards new husband Duke Cava.

She made a quip about her handsome husband not being tall enough.

Thomas’s mum Helen said: “I’m not being funny Tom let’s not pretend. You all knew what you were signing up for.”

He replied: “No. I mean you’re not used to dealing with that many people in a setting when you’re not with your family and all of that. I’m not making excuses.”

Helen chimed in: “You are.”

Thomas added: “Well I learnt personally from it. I grew a lot.”

Helen replied: “I accept that but she come in, without knowing anyone and was absolutely vile.

“Why on earth did she go on it? It’s certainly not for frame. You can tell it’s not for fame because what would she be famous for? Being an absolute c***?”

Later, viewers cancelled Whitney on Twitter, sent death threats, and accused her of going on the show to become famous.

Now after being branded “the worst ever bride” Whitney — whose co-star weighed in on the drama — has broken her silence.

“I mean, I wasn’t going into it with these super high expectations, expecting to find the love of my life because I can be quite pessimistic. But deep down yes I did want to find a really good connection with my husband,” she said.

She added: “If I went on there for fame I’m clearly doing a bad job of it aren’t I? Because everyone hates me. The British public cannot bear me. So this is not a good way to get fame. I went in there hoping to change my cycle and open up, and let a man into my life. I didn’t go on it for fame.”

Married At First Sight UK star defends her ‘overreaction’ to husband’s job after fans slam her

Married at First Sight UK fans slammed Jess Potter following her “overreaction” to her new husband’s job, but she defended her actions.

Jess, 31, sobbed on Friday night’s episode and insisted she wouldn’t go on the honeymoon after Pjay Fincher, 31, revealed his stripper career.

Her emotions worsened as she shouted to the cameras: “I don’t want to go out with a stripper!”

Fans were angry at the dentist for “judging” her husband and his career – as they dubbed her sobbing as “an overreaction”.

The reality star later defended herself in an Instagram post.

“I wasn’t judging Pjay, but coming into this experiment I literally said just don’t put me with a stripper or anyone who works in night life,” she explained of the scenes.

“I need someone to be present in my relationship, I was in shock.

“It’s more my trust issues and not being able to see my husband on a weekend, I don’t have anything against him being a stripper.

“I don’t think I can deal with it because it would mess with my head, and my mental health is more important.”

What do we know about Married at First Sight’s Whitney Hughes?

Married at First Sight’s Whitney Hughes became a road safety campaigner after she lost her mum in a devastating car accident in 2019.

“Grief is a funny thing isn’t it,” she told The Sun.

“Sometimes you’re like, it’s packed away now. The suitcase is locked and sent into whatever that baggage thingy is, and the next minute it pops back out again. It was hard.”

Raised by her mum as a single parent, staying with a man like Duka was difficult.

“Spending 24/7 with a man was tricky.”

“I wasn’t that girl who grew up dreaming of her wedding day and finding ‘the one’ so I knew I’d have to be forced into it. I wouldn’t be able to just pop to Tescos and find the love of my life.

“I had never lived with a guy before so that was a massive adjustment, having to live with someone.

“Being in that process was so intense. I don’t think Duka is a bad person at all, I think he was also trying to cope in the situation and we were all there to learn and grow.”

Married At First Sight UK fans reckon they’ve spotted a red flag with one of the brides.

The reality TV star – whose wedding on the controversial E4 show was aired on Tuesday – was seen explaining herself to George, 40, in last night’s show.

In the surprising scenes April arrived at his hotel door with a bottle of Champagne and asked where he had gone at the end of the night.

Emotional George then confronted her over the steamy snog – which she claimed was part of a dare – and he told the cameras: “I’ve been cheated on.”

He later apologised for being upset, after she claimed the kiss was “a bit of fun, part of game.”

But one viewer claimed: “Cheating on the honeymoon… major red flag”

Another said: “Massive red flag . Why bring a peace offering if you didn’t f**k up?”

“This is hard to watch 🥺,” a third commented on Twitter before adding: “George will regret apologising to April”

Pjay is part of the world-famous, Dreamboys.

“He’s never been short of attention, yet he can’t seem to find the right person that he wants to settle down with and his job has been a barrier to finding the right woman.

“His ex-partners have struggled with trust, but he’s a firm believer in providing reassurance when he’s off touring and performing for thousands of screaming fans.

“His best friends are his mum and his sister.

“He tells him mum everything and his future wife will need her seal of approval”

“I went into denial for a second, and then I got to the end of the aisle, and I was like, OK I’ve got to marry this guy. And it was like, ‘OK don’t trip, don’t trip!’”

She added: “The thing is, I actually hate drama and I hate being in confronting situations.

“My go to is being sort of dry and sarcastic and blunt, that is my way of diverting away from opening my heart.

“I don’t think the viewers get my humour yet, they might eventually see that most of the time I’m just joking. I don’t take myself too seriously so I don’t know why everyone else is. It’s just dry sarcastic humour a lot of the time.”

Bride reveals shock trolling following first week of episodes

Whitney Hughes has told The Sun of the horrific trolling and death threats she’s received since finding fame on the show.

The PA from St Albans agreed to marry a stranger in the reality TV experiment and refused to pretend that it wasn’t a wacky thing to do.

She discussed the backlash and growing pile of horrible comments taking over her DMs in an exclusive interview with The Sun.

“I’ve got a really good support network around me thankfully. I mean my friends and family have been amazing, but of course the whole social media, the comments, the DMs, it’s a lot. It’s a lot to process,” she said.

“People need to think about how their actions and words might affect others. Because it’s kind of unnecessary going into someone’s DMs and saying the things I’ve been sent.”
